Drawing on our rich experience on student admission at UK Universities, Foundation College offers a placement and application service for external (independent) students. This service will interest students who are seeking undergraduate or postgraduate study in the UK. Direct entry on undergraduate courses is possible for Greek school graduates who have achieved a respectable grade in the Greek school apolytirion along with an appropriate language qualification. All graduates of Greek universities and TEI are potentially admissible to study for postgraduate qualifications (Masters or PhD) at British Universities.
This service aims to maximise the educational benefit for the student by selecting the most appropriate course at the best possible institution. We proceed by advising and helping out with the application process, monitoring responses and helping with final decisions. Finally we help and advise on peripheral issues such as accommodation, registration and other student- related issues that usually arise when students travel abroad for their education.
Interested students should contact the College to book an appointment with an educational advisor at Foundation College. This appointment is non-committing and simply aims to develop an understanding of the student's aspirations and expectations. Our counsellor will advise the student about our placement service and what it can achieve for him or her.
Every year we meet far too many students who made a mediocre choice and ended-up at an inferior institution simply because they didn't know. They were often ill-advised or advised by friends who knew no better. Some of the most common reasons why students end-up in not so reputable institutions are:
- they had a friend who was already at the institution making them feel safer, or
- they believed that a very reputable institution would not accept them, or
- they believed that a very reputable institution will be harder to complete, or
- they were influenced by a biased source, such as an adviser from a specific university
Career competition is so intense that you cannot afford to let go of opportunities. Education is a prize you will carry all your life and going to the best possible institution is important. These days there is a very wide range of choices for your education not only in the UK but also internationally. As a result one does not always know the best way forward. Unfortunately, official information keeps equal distances. There are independent ratings which you can consult but they do not always elucidate the sort of information you are after. What makes matters worse is that the less reputable institutions have developed very competent marketing and public relations strategies which entice unsuspecting candidates.
The plethora of choices and the rapid changes in traditional courses make the service of an independent advisor even more necessary. We are confident that our experience and expert knowledge will help you maximise your educational gain.
