Workshop for the Development of Personal and Intrapersonal Skills

Foundation
College is offering an innovative series of workshops to train important non-academic personal and interpersonal skills. The purpose for enhancing these skills is to lead towards more successful and productive personal and professional lives.

The effective training of personal and intrapersonal skills is achieved through practical action-filled workshops that involve:

- understanding of the concept,
- motivation and encouragement towards improving the specific skill,
- demonstration of the skill,
- practical exercises, during the workshop and in everyday life, that make the skill automatic,
- feedback and corrective advice,
- setting targets of achievement
- evaluation of the progress made.

Trainees are expected to make substantial progress in a relatively short period but expectedly progress can vary considerably from one person to the next

Each series of workshops targets a specific skill. The following programmes are currently offered:

  • Effective Communication
(speaking, listening, presenting, body posture, written communication, making speeches)

Each series contains 6-10 weekly workshops each of which will last about one and a half hour. Group sizes consist of 4-8 trainees in each group while individual time with the facilitator is envisaged in the programme. The exact schedule of each series will be announced to participants as groups become formed. These training workshops are designed to help people with average only performance in the respective skill advance to a much higher level of competence. They are not suitable as therapeutic sessions for people with severe difficulty in the areas targeted by the skills. The training is offered at Foundation College in Kifissia.
