Italy started offering degrees in medicine (and dentistry) in English at its national universities over ten years ago. The strong tradition of Italy as a country of advanced science and technology, the beauty of the Italian landscape and its cities in conjunction with the very low tuition fees has made these courses highly desirable. As a result, securing one of the 1000+500 places that are available to EU and non-EU students is a highly competitive task that depends on just one factor: Your score in the IMAT, a 100 minute multiple choice test paper-based, mainly on science and maths that is conducted every autumn at test centres around the world. (In 2024 the IMAT test was on 17 September 2024 so we assume that the 2025 tests will be in mid September 2025 but you need to register a lot earlier)
We have been teaching College-level Sciences and Mathematics in English since 1988 and so we are totally familiar with the material examined in the IMAT. In the past our courses were short and mainly serving as a revision exercise for candidates already strong in sciences. However studying medicine in Italy has become more competitive and we now offer longer preparatory programmes for those students who want to secure their admission to Italian medical schools. We currently offer two programmes for the IMAT. A winter programme which starts in October and runs to the end of May and a summer programme which starts in June and runs until early September. Both programmes envisage 9 contact hours per week over five (winter course) or three (summer course) days a week and are delivered both by live classes and on zoom - students are free to choose their mode of attendance and switch from one to the other as often as they like. They incorporate a lot of practice material as homework as well as an English language course for those whose english needs bringing up to par. Students have the option to take both the winter and the summer course on a monthly basis at the competitive price of 445 euro per month. By doing so they can assess the benefit they derive and also tailor it to the necessary duration that makes them feel secure.
We invite candidates to attend trial classes before they enroll. All you need to do is contact Popi in our office (+30 2108081050 or email: imat@fcollege.gr) and she will guide you to access trial classes either by live attendance or on zoom.
For all those who do not wish to commit themselves to a prep programme we offer free videos with questions of the week to help them with their preparation for the IMAT exam.
